Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

    Cut, Paste & Create

    Love stickers, colorful paper, and getting creative? This club is for you! We’ll mix art, crafting, and storytelling to make amazing junk journals filled with memories, ideas, drawings, and fun surprises. No art experience needed—just bring your creativity and be ready to have fun!

    Students will bring their creativity to life using paint to make a canvas, molding clay and paints to create statues, or paint and vinyl to make signs.

    Students will learn fundamental drawing, painting, clay sculpting techniques and many creative crafts. Every class, they will explore a variety of art media like Watercolours, Acrylics, Oil Pastels, Chalk, Color Pencils, Pen and ink, Clay, Collages and many more through age appropriate creative projects. Students will be taught the elements of art and various art techniques through fun projects which they will cherish forever.

    A game club is a fun and engaging way for kids to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving, and social skills. The club can include a variety of games such as board games, card games, and logic puzzles. It encourages friendly competition and helps children learn the importance of rules, strategy, and critical thinking.
