Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

  • Ready, Set, Play!

    Your child will engage in fun exploration through various learning centers. They will develop creativity, social emotional skills, cognitive thinking, and physical development skills!

    Grades: TK, K, 1

  • Library Club & more Part 1

    Students will be reading aloud. Students will be engaging with book art activities. A great way to motivate children to read, get them talking about books, and have them share ideas and perspectives.

  • Library Club & more Part 2

    Students will be reading aloud. Students will be engaging with book art activities. A great way to motivate children to read, get them talking about books, and have them share ideas and perspectives.

  • Arts & Crafts

    Students will learn fundamental drawing, painting, clay sculpting techniques and many creative crafts. Every class, they will explore a variety of art media like Watercolours, Acrylics, Oil Pastels, Chalk, Color Pencils, Pen and ink, Clay, Collages and many more through age appropriate creative projects. Students will be taught the elements of art and various art techniques through fun projects which they will cherish forever. (eg: colour theory, colour blending, creating texture, light and shade, perspectives, etc.) Every season, they will be introduced to the works of great artists and art practices from around the world to enrich their knowledge on art history and inspire them to create their own masterpieces.

  • Sports Clinic

    Our Tiger Sports Clinic is designed to engage students through a step-by-step process to promote growth & development in a variety of sports. We will introduce students to a variety of sports so they may find their individual passion and gifts. Students will be encouraged to strive for the very best that exists inside each and every one of them. Tiger Pride

    Critical thinking involves understanding concepts rather than memorizing facts. In games, players are confronted with complex problems for which they must formulate solutions and take appropriate action. Often, a number of different alternatives are presented to players, forcing them to make quick choices.
