Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

  • Building with Keva planks

    Building with Keva planks

    Students will have the opportunities to build with KEVA Planks

  • Vocal Performance/Fil-Am History Month Presentation

    Vocal Performance/Fil-Am History Month Presentation

    This course will focus on reading basic musical notes using solfege (do, re, mi...). Students in this class will be taught vocal technique that focuses primarily on the fundamentals of good singing, such as breathing, support, posture, tone creation, placement of sound, range, endurance and excellent control. Students will also be taught songs to be presented at the Fil-Am History Month which will be held in October.

    Fitness Club

    This course is to enhance students health and well-being. Fitness clubs provides many fun activities like football, basketball, capture the flag, volleyball, 4 squares, kick ball and many more. These activities will promote team building skills, communication, and comprehension skills. Also, they learn more fundamental motor skills and will have a better understanding of games and activities.

    The craft club is a club with a wide variety of activities involving making things with one's own hands. We will work with many different materials, including tule, jewelry, and canvases.

    Students will build movie/game scenery sets and characters using Legos. Students will work collaboratively with others to complete their sets following the Lego instructions and also free build.
