Harvest Bears
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels on classes before registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

3rd Grade Beast Academy
3rd grade students will learn and practice math concepts at a higher and faster rate using an engaging platform. Students will also be able to collaborate on these concepts to help each other. Please see Ms. Reyna for more information.

Beast Academy - 3rd grade
The Beast Academy program fosters math growth and critical thinking through engaging, problem-based learning experiences. Students explore grade-level math concepts by solving challenging puzzles, discussing multiple strategies, and working collaboratively with their peers. The teacher serves as a facilitator, guiding students to think deeply, explain their reasoning, and learn from one another. This collaborative approach encourages perseverance, creativity, and a strong understanding of mathematical concepts while developing students’ confidence and love for learning math.

Crafts & Games
Together, "crafts and games" can describe a wide range of hobbies and pastimes, from physical games and puzzles to artistic projects like painting, making toys, and building things. This combination can foster creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and emotional expression.

AR Literacy and Games and much more!
Accelerated Reader motivates students to read more through engaging quizzes, goal setting, and personalized recommendations. As students increase their reading volume, they develop greater reading stamina, word recognition, and language comprehension skills.Games increase engagement by making learning fun and motivating. They can turn reading into a more active, goal-oriented activity, which can be especially helpful for students who struggle with traditional reading methods.

Beginner Crochet
In this course, students will learn the basics of how to crochet. By the end of the course, they will be able to start with a basic foundation of a slip knot and chain. They will also learn a few beginner stitches like a single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. Join me in learning this fascinating and centuries old art form. Let's learn and have fun!

Shine & Design: Gem Art and Crafts
Get ready to shine and create! In this fun and colorful art class, students will explore their creativity through painting, gem art, and hands-on crafts. We’ll use bright paints, dazzling gems, and everyday materials to make sparkling masterpieces that show off each artist’s imagination. Students will learn about color, texture, and design while practicing fine motor skills and self-expression.
