Fremont Warriors
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP)

Parents, please review the grade level and the time slot of the afterschool class before registering your student.
If your student’s first session begins AFTER 2:30 PM it will require your student to be picked up from school and then returned to school for their scheduled ELOP class, unless your student is enrolled in the regular P.O.W.E.R. program.

Arts and Crafts
Come join us for a colorful journey into the world of creativity! In this hands-on arts and crafts class, kids will paint, cut, glue, sculpt, and explore all kinds of fun materials. Each week brings something new — maybe a bright watercolor painting, a cool clay creature, or a handmade card to give someone special.

Battle of the Books
Students will read interesting books at 4th grade level or higher to complete the Battle of the books list. These students will achieve prizes for each completed book. For every completed book, students may take AR quizzes for accomplishing their reading medals. Students will participate in our district’s Battle of the Books competition. Special awards will be granted for the hard work and dedication.

Drawing and Coloring
Students will draw on sketch books or canvas then they will color or paint it. Students will be able to use crayons, gel pens, markers, and acrylic pain and brush. Students will also earn stickers as incentives and will be able to keep their sketch book at the end of the session. .

SLIME TIME!
Slime Time! – Stretch, Squish, and Create
Welcome to Slime Time!—the ultimate hands-on class where science meets creativity! In this ooey-gooey adventure, students will explore the fun (and slightly messy) world of slime-making.
Students will customize their slime with colors, scents, textures, and more, all while practicing measuring, following directions, and working together in a fun, relaxed environment.
It’s sensory fun, scientific discovery, and creative play—all rolled into one squishy, stretchy experience!

DIY Pens, Pencils, and Erasers
Students will be able to make DIY pens or mechanical pencils. They will be able to make beautiful and creative pens with beads and choose from a variety of colors and holiday themes including 3D toy-cartoon characters. Students will also make erasers using a creative craft kit and decorate a pencil box with stickers and Gem Diamonds.

Art class is where students can focus on building foundational art skills and exploring creative expression through various media. Students will learn about elements of art like line, shape, color, and texture, as well as principles of design like balance and contrast. They'll experiment with different techniques like drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture, and learn to analyze and interpret artwork.
