Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation. POWER PLUS is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please review the grade level and the time slot of the afterschool class before registering your student.

Sessions starting after 2:30pm will require your student to be picked up from school and then returned for their scheduled after school class, unless your student is enrolled in the regular P.O.W.E.R. program.

  • Mexican Folkloric Dance

    Your child will learn and perform two dances this session. The first performance will focus on dances from Veracruz, while the second performance will focus on Coco inspired dances.

  • Little Robotics Club

    Hello and welcome to the Little Robotics Club! Our robotics club is all about coding and commanding robots using LEGO products. By learning to program and control robots, students will explore the exciting world of science and gain valuable skills for life beyond the classroom. Classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30, starting on September 23rd and ending on November 22nd. We are looking forward to having your child join in the fun!

  • The Reading and Puppetry Club

    Come and grow your passion for reading while building your very own book and stuffed animal collection. Also, learn how to make different kinds of puppets for example, finger, sock, glove and stick puppets using a variety of fun materials. Sign up to join the fun!

  • Beaded Pens & Crafts

    Beaded Pens & Crafts: We will make fun and creative pens with beads. Students will be able to choose from a variety of beads size, colors, patterns, shapes, cute animals, and cartoon characters such as Disney and Marvel characters. In addition, we will make crafts with pens and pencils by using beads, feathers, and flowers.We will also do crafts with beads such as bracelets and keychains.

  • Magnetic Building

    Description goes hereStudents will build to grown! Magnets, Legos, and other materials will be given to students to build whatever they wish. Building with magnets is a great way to learn Science and Engineering through play and creativity. This class will be helpful to students who wish to create and join science fair and STEM since it builds on students creativity in science. Come and join us in our fun!

    Students will have access to computers and Nintendo switches to learn through play. They will have a great time in playing with the many different games.     Students will walk and practice running short and long distance to prepare for future competitions held around Kern County such as track, or just to exercise while having fun. In addition, our club will also do a variety of outdoor/indoor activities such as tug of war competition games and rainbow parachute cooperative games. Students will receive prizes for their efforts.

  • Let's Get Wild with GATE!

    Hey there, families! Get ready for an amazing adventure through the wild as the GATE program at Fremont School invites you to learn all about the incredible animals in the zoo. GATE kicks off on September 23, 2024. Each class will be a journey through a different animal kingdom, and students will even get to choose their favorite animals for a special GATE festival project. GATE Session 2 will take place every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Let's walk on the wild side with GATE!
