Fremont Warriors
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP)

Parents, please review the grade level and the time slot of the afterschool class before registering your student.
If your student’s first session begins AFTER 2:30 PM it will require your student to be picked up from school and then returned to school for their scheduled ELOP class, unless your student is enrolled in the regular P.O.W.E.R. program.

The G.A.T.E. class challenges students to think critically and creatively through advanced, project-based learning experiences. Emphasizing problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation, the course nurtures each student’s intellectual curiosity and leadership potential.

Battle of the Books
Students will read interesting books at 4th grade level or higher to complete the Battle of the books list. These students will achieve prizes for each completed book. For every completed book, students may take AR quizzes for accomplishing their reading medals. Students will participate in our district’s Battle of the Books competition. Special awards will be granted for the hard work and dedication.

READING WARRIORS
Are you having a tough time reaching your AR goals and need extra support? Then come join our after school reading club, where a warrior will have time to read and a quiet place to take quizzes. This is the club for you to just be R.E.A.L.! and reach their AR goals.

Pottery & Sculpture
In this hands-on course, students will explore the art of ceramics on a small scale! Using air-dry clay, students will learn to design and craft detailed miniature sculptures. Additionally, we will use miniature pottery wheels to practice shaping tiny clay pots.

Disney DIY – Crafting Magic from Your Favorite Movies!

Yoga and Relaxation
Come learn basic yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques through games, stories, and music in a fun, non-competitive environment. Classes focus on improving strength, balance, coordination, and body awareness while also building self-esteem and teaching stress management skills.

DIY Pens and Bracelets
Students will be able to make DIY pens or mechanical pencils. They will be able to make beautiful and creative pens with beads and choose from a variety of colors and holiday themes including 3D toy-cartoon characters. Students will also make erasers using a creative craft kit and decorate a pencil box with stickers and Gem Diamonds.

Art class is where students can focus on building foundational art skills and exploring creative expression through various media. SLIME TIME!
Slime Time! – Stretch, Squish, and Create
Welcome to Slime Time!—the ultimate hands-on class where science meets creativity! In this ooey-gooey adventure, students will explore the fun (and slightly messy) world of slime-making.
Students will customize their slime with colors, scents, textures, and more, all while practicing measuring, following directions, and working together in a fun, relaxed environment.

Fremont Chess Club
Ready to think ahead, outsmart your opponent, and have fun while doing it? Chess Club is the perfect place to learn the game of chess and strengthen your brain! Students will learn how every chess piece moves, how to use chess notation, and how to play full games from start to finish. We’ll explore beginner strategies and cool chess tactics through fun chess puzzles that build critical thinking, planning, problem-solving, and strategy skills. Students will also play timed games to experience what real chess tournaments feel like—just like competitive players! Whether you’re brand new to chess or already know how to play, Chess Club is a welcoming space to learn, practice, and challenge yourself while having fun and showing great sportsmanship.
