Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels on classes before registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

    Students will to learn, play, and grow through video games.

    Students will have opportunities to participate in book read alouds, complete activities related to books, read books on their own, and can take AR quizzes during this time.

  • Jewelry Club

    Jewelry Club

    Jewelry Club is a fun, hands-on enrichment program where students will explore their creativity through jewelry making and decorative crafts. Participants will design and create items such as bracelets, necklaces, earrings, keychains, and bedazzled accessories while learning basic crafting techniques and expressing their unique style. The club encourages creativity, fine motor skill development, problem-solving, and self-expression in a positive, collaborative environment. Students will have the opportunity to complete a variety of projects and take home their handmade creations throughout the session.

    The world of Pokémon & One Piece: A STEM Journey for 2nd to 4th Graders

    Join us for a fun-filled class that combines arts and crafts & the thrill of the Pokémon and one piece tcg/board/switch games with essential STEM learning, teamwork, and strategic thinking, creativity and motor skills!!

    Creative Writing and Scrapbooking

    Students will be given the opportunity to think and write creatively, based on different prompts given by instructor. In doing so, writing by hand improves memory and recall of words, laying down the foundations of literacy and learning. Additionally, students will use their creativity to scrapbook a page or two, correlating to what they wrote.
