Princeton Knights
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels on classes before registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

Guitar Basics
Learn to play basic chords on guitar.

Chess
A two-player strategy game where players move their pieces across the board in a variety of allowable directions to capture the opponent's pieces.

Creative Threads: Fashion Work Shop
Students explore the exciting world of fashion. From sketching ideas to bringing them to life, design through hands-on creativity. Participants will learn basic sewing skills, experiment with fabrics, and design their own fashion pieces.

Clay Arts and Crafts
Students will make clay projects. Students will be creative and enhance fine motor skills, creativiy, and develop a sense of pride in their creations.

Students will listen to a book and complete an art activity/craft related to the story.

Children will engage in hands-on building challenges. They will develop critical thinking, problem solving, and team work skills in a fun and creative environment.

Pokémon & One Piece Card Game : A STEM Journey for 2nd to 4th Graders
Join us for a fun-filled class that combines the thrill of the Pokémon & One Piece card game with essential STEM learning, teamwork, and strategic thinking!

Students will create arts and crafts that will include painting, dot painting, paper crafts, coloring pages and more.

Jewelry and Bracelet Making
Jewelry and bracelet making club provides students with an opportunity to express their creativity by designging and creating their own bracelets and simple jewelry. Students will explore color patterns, bead designs, and friendship bracelets while developing fine motor skills, patience, and creativity. This club encourages a relaxing and supportive environment where students can socialize, collaborate, and create handmade items they can wear or share with friends and family.

Students will design/customize shirts, pencil pouches, hats, cups with vinyl, iron on patches, and holiday theme design and wearables

Creative Writing and Scrapbooking
Students will be given the opportunity to think and write creatively, based on different prompts given by instructor. In doing so, writing by hand improves memory and recall of words, laying down the foundations of literacy and learning. Additionally, students will use their creativity to scrapbook a page or two, correlating to what they wrote.

Qualified GATE students will learn about Fairytales and what they entail. They will have group discussions and a culminating activity ready for the GATE Festival

STEAM Olympiad
This class is only for students who will be participating as members of Princeton's 2026 STEAM Olympiad Team. We will be using this time to practice for both the district and county competitions.

Battle of the Books
This class will help prepare third grade students who are interested in being part of Princeton's Battle of the Books team. They will have time to read books, take the AR quizzes, and practice for the competition. ***ONLY students who meet the minimum requirements for number of books read may qualify for the team.
