Princeton Knights

Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels on classes before registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

    Diamond Art is a fun way to be creative and teaches students how to be patient while creating their mosaic- like art.

    Students will create clay projects. Students will use unique techniques and imagination. Students will develop creative thinking in a stress free environment.

    LEGO STEM Challenges

    Students will be engaging in an exciting activity involving LEGO bricks. They will have the opportunity to build and participate in a variety of themed challenges that aim to promote critical thinking, imagination, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, this activity will encourage teamwork as they work collaboratively in teams.

    Building Wonders

    Students will use their imaginations to build with Keva planks and magnetic tiles.

    Creative play can help children grow emotionally socially and physically. We will be using hands on and sensory toys for them to have fun and use their imagination.

    Bracelet and Keychain Making

    Getting creative and showing students how cool and fashionable it is to make colorful beaded bracelets and keychains. Showing them many different ways and techniques they can use to make wonderful things with beads and lettering.

    Introduction to Singing

    This class is for students who love to sing. Students will learn basic singing techniques, practice listening skills, rhythm, and work on fun songs in a group setting. Students will feel more confident performing simple songs.

  • Weight Lifting and Physiology

    Weight Lifting and Physiology

    Using our on campus Fitness Lab, students will gain an understanding of their own physiology, as well as effective exercises targeting specific muscle groups. The course will cover the idea of "splits", or weight training targeting specific muscle groups through the use of specific exercises. Students will also learn the benefits of an active lifestyle, and how physical fitness is directly related to both emotional and mental well-being.
