Albany Park Panthers
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

Reading Comprehension and Foundational Skills
Teaching through movement-building reading comprehension and foundational skills with Legos. Providing students with the time to use their imagination and creativity to build something and associate it with learning.
Grades: Kinder, 1

Students will use their knowledge and creativity to create models and objects using Legos.

Slime Club
Students will be using their math skills and will learn science when making slime. Students will learn how slime is made and how it becomes a non-Neotonian fluid (liquid solid). They will be using their fine motor skills. Slime will also provide an ideal medium for sensory stimulation as it engages multiple senses such as touch, smell, sight, and hearing as well as additional senses.

Puppet Club
Puppet Club will help your child develop creative and cognitive skills by using their imagination. Puppetry will help your child with building self confidence and with social emotional skills.

Forgetting to turn in your assignments? Can't remember to study for a test? Is your planner NEVER signed? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to be a Happy Planner. Join me on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and learn to become more organized with a cute planner and stickers!

STEAM Club
In this club you will be learning how to play math games, Sadako and mancala. We will be building mousetrap, cars and Rube Goldberg machines. At the end of the session, we will be able to go to the District STEAM olympiad to compete in these fun games and categories!
