Del Vista Dragons

Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels before registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30 pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

  • Creative Play/Crafts

    Creative Play/Crafts

    Your child will engage in fun exploration through various learning centers. They will develop creativity, social skills, and cognitive thinking skills.

    Arts and Crafts

    This hands-on program focuses on allowing students to create unique designs using vinyl, paper, and other materials. From custom stickers and personalized decor to fun DIY crafts, students will explore their creativity. Let’s design, cut, and craft together in a fun and inspiring environment!

    STEAM Building

    The after-school STEAM program offers hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. It helps students build confidence, enhance academic skills, and prepares them for future careers in growing fields

    Students will prepare for the Kern County STEAM Olympiad.

  • Sports Club

    Sports Club consist of playing a variety of outdoor games, as well as some indoor games when weather is too hot to be outdoors. We will be playing different sports like: volleyball, baseball, pickleball and indoor table games.

    Are you ready to bring some school spirit? Whether you’ve cheered before or are trying it out for the first time, our cheer squad is all about having fun, showing support for our school, and making new friends! No experience needed—just bring your energy and enthusiasm. Fourth grade meets on Monday and fifth grade meets on Wednesdays.

  • Film Studies

    Students will analyze film by genre, plot, problem and resolution. Additionally, students will recreate their own film where they become actors/actresses in their own short film. They will then present to the class in the end.
