Del Vista Dragons

Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Registration is CLOSED

Parents, PLEASE make sure to check the grade levels BEFORE registering. Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30 pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

    Students will explore creativity and problem-solving through board games, crafts, and engaging STEAM activities in a fun and supportive environment. This club encourages collaboration, curiosity, and hands-on learning while helping young learners build social skills and confidence through play.

    Crafts, and glitter, and creations OH MY! Welcome to my classroom! In my class students will learn to express their emotions through the wonderful world of crafting! We have so many different crafts to chose from!

  • Battle of the Books

    Join Battle of the Books reading incentive program for students 3rd thru 5th grade students. Students will read books and come together to test their ability to answer questions to demonstrate their knowledge of the books. They will participate in a competition in the month of May. Third grade will come to class on Mondays, fourth grade on Tuesdays, and fifth graders on Wednesdays.

  • DV Dragon Leadership Club

    Students in this course will help build school spirit and create a positive, welcoming campus for everyone. They will work together to plan and support end-of-year events, make posters, and share information about school activities. Students will learn how to work as a team, take responsibility, and become leaders on campus. This class gives students a chance to be involved, be creative, and help make school a fun and supportive place for all.

  • All Stars

    Get ready to move, compete, and grow! In All-Stars, 4th and 5th graders will explore a variety of sports while building skills in teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Each week, students will practice different sports, learn basic strategies, and participate in fun, game-based activities designed to boost confidence and athletic ability.

  • The Challenge

    Throughout the week, students will apply teamwork and strategies playing indoor and outdoor games such as flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, relays as well as indoor games and board games. Students will work in teams and apply teamwork strategies and teambuilding skills to navigate through specific tasks. Throughout the session, students will be gaining an understanding of how it is to work on a team, how to collaborate and communicate and have fun! Are you up for the challenge? Register today!

  • Sing Along!

    Students will sing a range of music genres throughout the session where they will sing solos, duos, or in groups. We will have weekly focus and class performances on different genres or musical artists. Additionally, musical artists will play musical games to broaden their knowledge of genres and musical artists. Hope y'all come ready to sing your lungs out and have fun!
