Albany Park Panthers
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Parents, please make sure to check the grade levels on classes before registering.
Please note that students that register for classes later than 2:30pm will have to be picked up after school and dropped off for their class unless they attend the after school POWER program.

Ceramic Painting
Join us for a fun and creative after school Ceramic Painting class designed for 4th graders. Student will explore their artistic side by painting pre made pottery pieces using a variety of colors and techniques. Each student will take home their unique artwork.

Diamond Painting
In this Sparkling art class, students will create colorful works of art using diamond painting kits. Diamond painting is a relaxing and fun craft where children place tiny gems onto a sticky canvas to bring pictures to life.

The Brainy Bunch
The Brainy Bunch is a fun class where students come together to grow their minds! Each week, students will read exciting books and take AR quizzes to track their progress. They will also build math fluency through practice, flashcards, and fun games. Our goal is to boost confidence, strengthen both reading and math skills, and have a great time learning with friends!

Battle of the Books Prep
Do you love to read, compete, and have fun with friends? Join the Battle of the Books Club, where students dive into a variety of exciting and engaging books, then team up to compete in trivia-style quiz battles. It’s a fun way to build your reading skills, discover new favorites, and enjoy a little friendly competition!

Students will learn fundamental movements and skills in a variety of sports and PE activities.

How to Draw
Students will follow how to videos to draw characters, cute foods, cartoons, and fun objects. Each student will have their own drawing pad and set of dual tip markers. Students will make mini canvases.
