Cecil Avenue Patriots
Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Let's get crafty
Let’s Get Crafty is a hands-on enrichment course where creativity comes to life! Students will explore a variety of art and craft projects using everyday and recycled materials. Through cutting, building, painting, designing, and experimenting, students will strengthen fine motor skills, problem-solving, and creative thinking. This course encourages imagination, collaboration, and self-expression in a relaxed and fun environment—no prior art experience needed!

Art Mural Design
This course introduces students to the creative and technical process of designing and painting large-scale murals. Students will explore the history and cultural impact of murals around the world while developing skills in concept development, sketching, color theory, composition, and surface preparation. Through hands-on projects, students will learn how to transform small designs into large wall paintings using techniques such as grid enlargement, projection, and collaborative planning.
