Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

POWER Plus will begin on Wednesday, July 30th.

  • Creative/Imaginative Play

    Students will explore, create and play using imagination and building skills. Students can build and create with a variety or things such as blocks, legos magnatiles, play doh and more!

    Grades: 1, 2

    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

    Time: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

  • Just Dance

    This after school program is perfect for kids who love dancing and staying active. Using the popular Just Dance Game on PlayStation or Wii Console. Students will learn dance routines, improve their coordination, and have fun with their friends. Each session is filled with energetic music, fun dance moves, and a whole lot of laughter.

    Grades: 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Lego Building

    Learning to build with legos.

    Grades: 2, 3, 4, 5

    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

    Time: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

  • Switch Gaming

    Students will play board games and videos games

    Grades: 2, 3, 4, 5

  • DIY Clothing and Accessories

    Students will learn to design and create their own shirts, bags, and anything they would like to put their own personal touch on.

    Grades: 4, 5
