Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Learning Through Play
Students will discover the power of learning through play, a natural and effective method for developing essential life skills. Through engaging, child-led activities, learners will actively explore the world around them by experimenting, creating, and problem-solving. This dynamic process fosters growth across all developmental domains, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. Color Me Curious
Students will be painting portraits by correlating colors to its matching number to enhance their number recognition in an engaging creative way. Students will be taking home their completed portraits during the session.

Scrap it Up!
Design and build their very own scrapbook using colorful papers, stickers, stamps, and fun embellishments. We’ll learn easy techniques for layouts, lettering, and journaling while preserving favorite photos, drawings, and keepsakes. By the end of the session, each student will proudly take home a personalized memory book to treasure forever.

Fun Zone Club
In Fun Zone Club, the students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities. These activities include crafts, projects, zumba, karaoke,art, games, AR, meditation and more. These activities are designed to encourage creativity, physical activity and teamwork while allowing students to explore their interests in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Grow a Garden
Students will learn about gardening plants and agricultural practices. They will plant seeds like flowers and grass and watch them grow throughout the 8 weeks of the course. They will also use their planting journal to record how their plant looks every week that they are there and record the results. Composting, seeding, etc. will be learned through this project.They will be able to take all the plants that they planted home!

Fall Craft Adventure
Get ready for a season full of color, imagination, and hands-on fun! Students will dive into creative projects that celebrate the best of fall. From spooky Halloween decorations to vibrant Day of the Dead art, heartfelt Veterans Day tributes, and festive Thanksgiving crafts, each session brings a new chance to cut, paint, glue, and create. Student will build skills, explore traditions, and take home crafts that show off their creativity!
