Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

Crafty Creations
students explore their creativity through fun, hands-on arts and crafts. Students learn how to make customized beaded pens, bracelets, and necklaces while developing fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression. They also enjoy coloring activities that encourage relaxation, focus, and artistic exploration. The class provides a positive, engaging environment where students can build confidence, socialize with peers, and create unique projects to take home.

Badminton Blast
In this fun and active class, students will learn the basics of badminton while building coordination, teamwork, and confidence. Students will practice beginner skills such as holding the racket, serving, hitting, and rallying with partners. Through games and friendly challenges, participants will improve their agility, focus, and sportsmanship while having a great time staying active. No experience is needed—just come ready to move, learn, and play!

Game Masters
Students will enjoy a variety of fun board games while developing teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and good sportsmanship. This engaging class encourages friendly competition, strategic thinking, and making new friends in a positive and inclusive environment.
