Nueva Vista Phoenix

Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

  • Arts and Crafts

    Arts and Crafts.

  • Creative Play & Art

    Students will engage in play through a variety of activities and learning centers. Students will develop their creativity skills, social skills, and cognitive thinking skills.

    Students will develop their artistic skills through the use of different formats, such as drawing, painting, and air-dry clay sculptures.

    Join us for a fun and relaxing after\-school class filled with board games, coloring, and creativity\! Students will enjoy playing a variety of games while building teamwork, problem\-solving, and social skills\. They’ll also have time to express their creativity through coloring and fun art activities.

  • Craft Creations

    Get creative and have fun making beautiful beaded pens, bracelets, necklaces, and keychains! Students will design their own unique creations while exploring colors, patterns, and personal style. This hands-on class encourages creativity, patience, and fine motor skills while having fun with their peers!

  • Pilates

    This kid-friendly Pilates class introduces students to fun and engaging exercises that help build core strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body awareness. Students will learn beginner-friendly Pilates movements in a supportive and energetic environment while developing healthy movement habits and confidence. No previous Pilates experience is needed, just come ready to move and have fun!

    Join us for an exciting celebration of reading, teamwork, and friendly competition! In Battle of the Books, students will read a selection of engaging books, build their reading skills, and participate in fun challenges and competitions based on what they read. Students can earn AR points, compete for prizes, and discover new books and authors while continuing to grow their love of reading.

  • Reading Foundations Intervention

    This after-school reading intervention program provides targeted support in phonics and reading fluency. Students will strengthen their ability to recognize letter-sound patterns, decode words, read accurately, and build smoother, more confident reading skills through focused practice and engaging activities.
