Powerful Outcomes in Wellness, Education, & Recreation (POWER) is an after school program that has been recognized for excellence throughout Region 8 (Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Kern Counties). We’ve been invited numerous times to present at conferences across our region and state, and have been highlighted and visited by many different after school entities. We provide safe, effective, innovative, & engaging learning, nutrition, and physical activity programs for DUSD students in grades TK-8.

  • Diamond Art Extravaganza

    Join us for a fun and sparkly adventure with diamond art! Tk/k students will explore colors, patterns, and number recognition places colorful diamonds on pre-printed canvases. They will learn motor skills, and hand-eye coordination and provides a rewarding sense of accomplishment.

  • Arcade Adventures

    Arcade Adventures combines retro arcade games like Pac-Man with modern fun, including air hockey, Nintendo Switch multiplayer, and cornhole. This course offers a chance to improve your gaming skills and enjoy friendly competition with friends. It’s the perfect way to develop critical thinking skills and work strategically while having fun!

  • Imagine With Me

    Students will explore and use Imagination to play and make believe in different environments. Students will be creative and explore different area such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, building, playing with dolls and so much more.

  • Just Dance

    This after school program is perfect for kids who love to dancing and staying active. Using the popular Just Dance Game on Wii or PlayStation console. Students will learn new dance routines, improve their coordination, and have a blast with their friends. Each session is filled with energetic music, fun dance moves, and a whole lot of laughter.

  • Bracelet Making and Diamond Art

    Come and make friendship bracelets using a variety of beads and knotting techniques or you may choose to create a 3D diamond art creation. You can keep, trade, or gift the bracelets and pictures created!

  • Battle of the Books, Reading and Crafts

    Come and join the reading and craft fun! Students will have the opportunity to read and take AR quizzes. We will be bringing together the love of reading and crafts. Students will be able to earn AR points and prizes. They will also have the opportunity to create crafts linking them to some of our favorite books.

  • Empowerment Circle

    The Empowerment Circle is a fun and supportive afterschool club where elementary students come together to build confidence, self-esteem, and kindness. Through activities, games, and discussions, we help each other recognize our unique strengths, encourage positive thinking, and celebrate what makes us all special. It’s a safe space to grow, make friends, and feel empowered to be the best version of yourself.

    Join us for an exciting after-school karaoke program where kids can unleash their inner pop stars! Karaoke Kid is designed for children aged 7-12 who love to sing and perform. In this fun and supportive environment, participants will have the opportunity to choose their favorite songs, practice their vocal skills, and perform in front of their peers.

    Do you enjoy using your creativity and sharing joy with others? Join the Joyful Card Makers Club, a creative space for 3rd to 5th graders who love crafting and spreading joy! In this vibrant club, you’ll design and create beautiful 3D cards, thank you notes, and festive greeting cards using colorful papers and magical supplies while enjoying laughter and conversation with friends. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just starting out, there’s a place for you as we craft joy, one card at a time!
