  • 7th Grade After-School English Language Arts & Writing Intervention

The After-School English Language Arts & Writing Intervention program is designed to help students recover essential literacy skills, close learning gaps, and build the confidence needed for success in the classroom. Through targeted instruction and individualized support, students will strengthen foundational reading and writing skills while working toward grade-level proficiency. Instruction focuses on developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and writing organization. Students will practice reading both literary and informational texts, citing textual evidence, responding to reading through writing, and composing clear, organized narrative, informative, and argumentative pieces. Lessons are differentiated to meet individual learning needs and provide additional practice in areas where students need the most support. Students will receive explicit instruction, guided practice, and timely feedback in a structured and supportive learning environment. Progress will be monitored regularly to identify growth, address skill deficits, and celebrate academic achievements. The ultimate goal of this intervention is to equip students with the literacy skills, strategies, and confidence necessary to become successful, independent readers and writers both in school and beyond.
